This page explains what we do with your personal information, in plain language. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will answer.

Who we are

LUMOS Artisanal House is an artisan perfume house in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, and the store at lumosperfumes.com. LUMOS is a trading name of Boshar Pioneers SPC, C.R. No. 1540214.

We decide how your data is used, which makes us the data controller under the Omani Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022).

What we collect

● Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address
● What you ordered, what it cost, and which bottle number you were allocated
● Your messages to us — by email, Instagram or WhatsApp
● Basic technical information about your visit: IP address, device, browser and pages viewed

We never see your card number. Payments are handled directly by Paymob, our payment provider. We receive only a confirmation and the last four digits. 

Why we use it

● To take, fill and deliver your order
● To send order and shipping updates, and to answer your messages
● To handle returns, refunds and courier claims
● To keep the tax and accounting records Omani law requires
● To prevent fraud and keep the store secure
● To send you launch announcements — only if you asked for them

Who we share it with

Only where it is needed to run the shop:

● Shopify — hosts the store and processes orders 
● Paymob — takes payment and issues refunds 
● DHL Express and our local courier — deliver your parcel, and need your name, address and phone number 
● Our accountant, and Omani authorities where the law requires it 

We do not sell your data. We never have, and we will not.

Where your data goes

Shopify and Paymob process data outside Oman, and your courier receives your address in the destination country. Your data is therefore transferred abroad. We share only the minimum needed and require protections from every provider we use.

How long we keep it

● Order and tax records — as long as Omani law requires 
● Your account and our correspondence — 24 months after your last order 
● Marketing list — until you unsubscribe 
● Bottle allocation register (bottle number against buyer) — kept for the life of the edition, so we can verify authenticity 

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart and checkout working. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice there at any time, or block cookies in your browser.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

● Show you what we hold about you
● Correct anything that is wrong
● Delete your data, unless we must keep it for tax or legal reasons
● Stop marketing to you — immediately, no questions asked
● Send your data to you in a portable file

Email shathan007@gmail.com with “Data Request” in the subject line. We may check your identity first so that we do not give your data to someone else, and we do not charge for this.

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) in Oman.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Card details never reach our systems. Access to orders is limited to the people who need it, and anyone who helps us pack or fulfil is bound to confidentiality. No system is perfect — but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and notify the regulator, as the law requires.

Children

Our fragrances are alcohol-based and not intended for children, and our store is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

Changes

We update this page as our business and obligations change, and the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you.
